Greg Christian switches his menu items from conventional to all-natural, free-range chicken!
In an effort to raise the quality, consciousness and wholesomeness of his catering companies and to continue his mission as Chicago's Conscious Caterer™ Greg Christian has switched from traditional chicken to all-natural free range chicken. In an age when consumers seek greater freshness in their food choices, Chicago’s Conscious Caterer™, and chef, Greg Christian is making the search a little easier. Christian recently announced he will be only using all-natural, free-range chicken for Greg Christian Catering creations and his corporate on-line delivery and catering service, Get me Greg’s. This covers 25 menu items featured on the Get Me Greg's website.Greg Christian Catering and Get Me Greg’s will purchase their poultry exclusively from Orland, Indiana’s Miller Amish Country Poultry. The birds are farm raised in the traditional Amish way with natural feeds and humane treatment. The chicken is all-natural with no antibiotics, no hormones, no preservatives and no growth stimulants, and is just as tender and juicy as traditional chicken.
All-natural, free-range chicken offers a number of benefits that conventional chicken does not. Free-range chicken has 21% less fat, 30% less saturated fat and contains more vitamins than chickens that are not allowed to roam free outside. The lack of hormones and other preservatives mean the chickens are raised in a healthier, chemical free environment, with an entire pasture to feed from.
“The choice to use all natural chicken seems to be the logical next step,” says Greg Christian. “I am always looking for ways to make my food more positive while keeping it just as tasty. The chicken is great and honors the farm to table philosophy we follow at Greg Christian Catering and Get Me Greg’s.”
A gourmet chef and caterer for over 20 years, Christian began incorporating organic foods into his home six years ago to control his daughter's asthma. His organic based lifestyle at home worked so well, Christian decided to introduce organics into his catering company. A firm believer in the motto “you are what you eat,” Christian stresses the reconnection back to food sources, and seeks out the most wholesome options for his family and his customers.
Greg Christian Catering and Get Me Greg’s is rooted in Greg Christian’s philosophy that his consumers must always be provided with the most fresh and wholesome foods available. Christian seeks ingredients that are produced locally and always maintains deep regard for protecting and preserving the planet through sustainable practices. - Many of the farmers still feed their chickens in hand-filled hanging feeders
